Outsider

Transcreation: Goutam Chakraborty

You may call this person an outsider, if you want;

But the person will soar over this land,

feeling the touch of his own mother tongue,

sharing tales of sorrow, joy, and wounds.

He will fly solo, above paddy fields,

above rivers, and vast green expanses.

He'll witness things that seem out of place,

both indoors and outdoors.

Rest assured, he will portray it all,

from birth until death.

You may call the person an outsider, if you want.

Call the person an outsider ,if you want.
